Polyester Filter Bags: The Powerhouse of Filtration
Polyester (PET) filter bags provide efficient filtration within the 125-140°C range, featuring high air volume, low resistance, abrasion resistance, and high strength, with short-term tolerance up to 170°C—making them an optimal choice for steel, cement, wood processing, and similar industries.
These bags offer excellent electrical insulation and resistance to weak acids/organic solvents, but should be protected from concentrated sulfuric acid, strong alkalis, and sustained high heat/humidity to avoid performance degradation. Their low moisture absorption (<0.4% RH) further ensures long-term operational stability.

What Is a Polyester Filter Bag Used For?
Polyester filter bags are widely used in:
✓ Heavy Industries
-
Steel plants (EAF dust, sinter fumes)
-
Cement production (raw/cement mills)
✓ Manufacturing
-
Wood processing (sawdust collection)
-
Metalworking (grinding/polishing)
✓ Food & Pharma
-
Flour/sugar processing (FDA-compliant options available)
Avoid using with:
✖ Strong acids (e.g., sulfuric/nitric acid)
✖ High alkali environments (pH >10)
✖ Continuous high-humidity >120°C
(Technical Tip: For harsher conditions, consider PPS or PTFE filter bags instead)
Polyester (PET) filter bags can operate continuously at 125-140°C (257-284°F), with short-term exposure up to 170°C (338°F). Beyond this range, the fibers may weaken or degrade.
While polyester has low moisture absorption (<0.4% RH), prolonged exposure to high humidity + temperatures >120°C can cause hydrolysis. For damp conditions, consider PTFE-coated polyester or PPS bags.
Polyester resists weak acids and organic solvents but degrades in:
-
Strong acids: Concentrated sulfuric/nitric acid
-
Strong alkalis: pH >10 solutions
For chemical-heavy processes, upgrade to PPS or PTFE bags.
